Kolhapur Flood Relief - Reaching the Unreached. In early August 2019, devastating floods struck south western Maharashtra, with Kolhapur being one of the worst hit regions. Torrential rains from August 1 to August 10 caused local rivers to overflow, submerging vast areas and leading to large scale destruction. Homes were swept away, roads became inaccessible, and thousands of families were forced to evacuate. The calamity affected not just Kolhapur, but also major districts like Pune, Sangali, and Satara, leaving behind a trail of devastation and despair. Amidst this humanitarian crisis, United We Stand Foundation responded swiftly and selflessly. In keeping with our mission to stand by the nation in times of need, our team mobilized efforts for flood relief. Over four consecutive days, our volunteers went door-to-door in the most affected localities, distributing essential supplies such as dry food, drinking water, medicines, clothes, and sanitary products. The relief work was carried out under challenging conditions waterlogged areas, limited access to interior zones, and emotionally broken communities. Yet, our volunteers stood undeterred, bringing not just material aid but also a ray of hope to the victims. The people’s heartfelt gratitude fueled our resolve, reinforcing our belief that compassion in action is what truly unites a community.This mission once again highlighted the importance of timely intervention and the strength of unity in adversity.
