The Kerala Story - Uncovering the hidden truth.

The Kerala Story - Uncovering the hidden truth. To raise awareness about the critical issues of religious extremism and exploitation of women under the guise of love and trust, United We Stand Foundation organized a free movie screening of The Kerala Story for women in Nashik. The film, based on real incidents, sheds light on the manipulation and radicalization of young Indian girls, particularly in Kerala. It follows the story of Shalini Unnikrishnan, a college student whose ordinary life is tragically upended by the dark web of extremism and coercion. With powerful storytelling, the movie delivers a strong message about preserving identity, faith, and the importance of informed choices. Understanding the urgency of this issue, UWS Foundation arranged two impactful shows at a local Nashik theatre, exclusively for women. Over 800 women attended the screening, many of them were students and homemakers. The goal was not only to showcase the truth behind such conversions and their socio-political impact, but also to empower women with the knowledge to protect themselves and be aware of the larger threats faced by society. At the conclusion of both shows, United We Stand Foundation President Mr. Sagar Matale addressed the audience with heartfelt words. He shared the foundation’s previous efforts, including a notable case from 2016, where UWS, in collaboration with government officials, helped rescue 14 girls who had fallen victim to similar radical exploitation, often referred to as "Love Jihad". His speech inspired strength, awareness, and unity among the attendees. The event received overwhelming appreciation from the women present. Many expressed gratitude towards the foundation for not only hosting the screening but also creating a platform for open dialogue and real-life awareness. Initiatives like these continue to reaffirm UWS Foundation’s mission - to protect, educate, and uplift citizens while standing firmly for national integrity and the safety of every Indian woman.
