Tarpaulins distribution to Tribal Village in Igatpuri, Nashik

Tarpaulins distribution to Tribal Village in Igatpuri, Nashik The Ghoti region in Igatpuri, Nashik, is known as a tribal-dependent area. Being far from the city, the residents often face numerous daily challenges, especially during the monsoon season. One major issue is the leakage of roofs due to incomplete implementation of government housing schemes. To address this, United We Stand Foundation, Nashik, conducted a special outreach initiative on 23rd June 2024 in the tribal village of Shenwad Budruk, which consists of 13 hamlets. Upon learning about the severe roof leakage problem during the rains, the foundation distributed tarpaulins to over 100 households, ensuring temporary shelter support. Volunteers went door-to-door delivering the tarpaulins, winning the hearts of the villagers. Understanding the importance of women's health in rural communities, the foundation also installed Sanitary Vending Machines and distributed sanitary napkins to women across the village. Informative sessions on menstrual hygiene were conducted to spread awareness and encourage safe health practices among women. To ignite the light of education and empower the future generation, the foundation gifted educational supplies to local school students. This gesture not only boosted their morale but also aimed to improve their learning experience. Further inspiring the students, the foundation’s president Mr. Sagar Matale promised to organize a visit within a month to showcase artillery shells and equipment used by the Indian Army. In addition, to ensure the safety of the newly started school, CCTV cameras were donated and installed by the foundation, covering both students and staff.Mr. Sagar Matale concluded the initiative by assuring continued support to the village in every possible way in the future.
