To commemorate Gunners Day, Artillery Centre organized a Marathon in Collaboration with UWS at the Artillery Centre, Nashik, honoring the bravery, discipline, and enduring legacy of the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery. The event was conceptualized to promote fitness, national pride, and civil–military harmony, while providing citizens an opportunity to engage meaningfully with the armed forces. The marathon attracted participants from various walks of life, including civilians, youth, fitness enthusiasts, volunteers, and supporters of the defence forces. The event emphasized the importance of physical well-being, discipline, and perseverance—values deeply associated with the Indian Army. UWS volunteers played a crucial role in planning, coordination, and on-ground management, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to safety protocols. By organizing the Gunners Day Marathon within the Artillery Centre premises, UWS helped foster mutual respect and understanding between civilians and the military fraternity, reinforcing the idea that national security and civic responsibility go hand in hand. The event successfully combined commemoration with community participation, leaving a lasting impression on all involved.
